It took a while to figure out where and how everything was going to play out
It tells the story of three very different families who are struggling to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. The exterior shots of the house are similar to the same house that Mitchell and Cam lived in on Modern Family.
I could see why some might have watched one episode and turned it off
And it really took a while to find the balance between the dark and gritty humor and what ended up being a pretty straightforward whodunnit. It was hard to connect with the characters at first, who were generally seemingly ill-witted or malicious…
But I think persistence pays off here
There’s so much to see, so much to drink, so little time… Some might find the ending a bit too crazy, but there’s nothing wrong with a little sentimentality at this time of year.
